Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a solicitor to join a leading Land & Rural team advising a wide range of clients across Scotland. The role offers a diverse and stimulating mix of rural property, commercial transactions, and renewable energy work.

The successful candidate will act for landowners, developers, investors and commercial clients on a broad range of matters including land transactions, leasing, option agreements, and diversification projects. You’ll also gain exposure to renewable energy projects across technologies such as wind, solar, hydro and battery storage.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a varied caseload of property and energy-related transactions.
  • Advising on the acquisition, sale, leasing, and development of rural and commercial land.
  • Drafting and negotiating contracts, leases, and option agreements.
  • Supporting clients with practical, commercial solutions and clear advice.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across planning, corporate, and disputes teams.

About you:

  • 2-6 years’ PQE in rural, commercial property, or energy law.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A client-focused and proactive approach to your work.
