Job Description

An excellent opportunity for a planning solicitor to join a well established team in Edinburgh. The role offers exposure to both contentious and non-contentious planning work across a broad client base and development portfolio, including matters arising from national, major and local developments.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support a varied planning law caseload, including:

  • Contentious and non-contentious plannng matters
  • Environmental law considerations
  • Compulsory purchase issues
  • Public inquiries and planning appeals
  • Judicial review proceedings
  • Supporting complex cases alongside senior colleagues
  • Independent matter management where appropriate
  • Contribution to client relationships and team objectives

About You: 

  • 1-3 years’ PQE (candidates with more experience will also be considered)
  • Experience in planning or environmental law (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong analytical and client service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Interest in professional development and business growth

Candidates qualified in Scots law or dual-qualified in Scots and English law are preferred. Applications from English-qualified solicitors open to dual qualification will also be considered.
