The role
As an Employment Associate Solicitor, you’ll handle a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters, with a particular focus on contentious work.
Day to day, this includes:
Advising on employment disputes, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing and breach of contract claims
Preparing and defending Employment Tribunal proceedings, including hearings and judicial mediations
Providing practical advice on disciplinary, grievance, absence management and workplace policies
Supporting transactional matters, including M&A, due diligence and TUPE
Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, consultancy agreements and NXD appointments
Advising on restructures, redundancies, settlement agreements and negotiated exits
Working alongside dispute resolution colleagues on restrictive covenants and post-termination matters
Delivering client training, webinars and thought leadership content
About you
This role would suit an Employment Solicitor who:
Has established experience in employment law, ideally at Associate level (candidates without this level are encouraged to apply)
Has handled a mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters
Has solid knowledge of employment and discrimination law
Has experience of Tribunal litigation and advocacy support
Has some transactional experience, including M&A and TUPE (advantageous but not essential)
Has excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
Takes a commercial, solutions-focused approach to client work
