If you’re a non-contentious Construction Associate in Scotland who wants to work on major, high-value projects without relocating to London, this is a genuinely standout opportunity.

Job Description

I’m working with a leading international law firm with strong City connections that is looking to grow its Construction team in Glasgow. This is a Scotland-based role, but the calibre of work is firmly international and City-facing.

The UK non-contentious construction team operates as one integrated unit, and from Glasgow you will be fully embedded in that national and global practice. The client list is impressive and varied, including developers, SPVs, funders, contractors, owners and specialist suppliers. You will advise on projects not just across Scotland, but throughout the UK and internationally, all while being firmly rooted in the Scottish market.

This opportunity is aimed at a 2–5 PQE Associate who is enthusiastic, commercially aware and keen to develop within a high-performing environment. The work will see you advising on a broad range of non-contentious construction matters across the real estate development and investment, energy, transport and wider infrastructure sectors. You’ll be involved in drafting and negotiating building contracts, consultant appointments, collateral warranties and associated project documentation, as well as advising on risk allocation and project structuring.

What makes this particularly attractive is the blend of responsibility and support. You will have the opportunity to run matters, build direct client relationships and be visible in front of key stakeholders, while also benefiting from the backing of a substantial cross-office and international team. It’s a platform that allows you to grow in confidence and profile, without ever feeling isolated.

The Glasgow team is known for being collaborative, hard-working and genuinely supportive. There is a strong emphasis on developing associates, with structured and award-winning career progression support designed to help you achieve your long-term goals. This is a firm that invests in its people and provides a clear pathway for advancement within Scotland, while still giving you exposure to international and City-level work.

For a Scottish construction lawyer who wants high-quality projects, global connectivity and a strong local base, this represents an excellent next step.
