Trainee Solicitor

Job Description

This traineeship offers comprehensive, hands-on exposure across a broad range of Scots law disciplines, supporting multiple partners and working with both commercial and private clients. You will gain practical experience in core areas including commercial and residential property, corporate matters, private client work (wills, trusts, and estates), and dispute resolution. 

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting partners directly across diverse legal matters from inception to completion.
• Drafting legal documents, correspondence, and contracts.
• Conducting legal research and preparing detailed case notes.
• Liaising professionally with clients, lenders, estate agents, and other legal professionals.
• Managing day-to-day file progression in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.

What We Are Looking For

• Qualifications: LLB degree and valid DPLP (PEAT 1) qualification completed prior to start date.
• Work Ethic: A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong commercial awareness and attention to detail. 
• Adaptability: The ability to prioritise competing deadlines and seamlessly transition between different areas of law. 
• Communication: Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused attitude.
