Traineeship Opportunity in Mental Health Law - Join a specialist team making a meaningful difference.

Job Description

Ormistons Law is a dedicated mental health law firm, working nationally to uphold the rights of some of society’s most vulnerable individuals. We are currently seeking a trainee solicitor who is meticulous, adaptable, and empathetic—with a genuine passion for advocacy and social justice.

As part of our close-knit and highly experienced team, you will receive comprehensive training before admission. Post-admission, you will take on your own caseload, representing clients across the country and attending Mental Health Tribunals. You will be supported throughout by your training manager and a team of specialist solicitors.

What we’re looking for:

  • A strong commitment to mental health law and client advocacy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A high level of attention to detail and organisation
  • The ability to work independently and adapt in a dynamic legal environment
  • A full UK driving licence is essential, due to the national nature of the role

This is a rare opportunity to train with one of the UK’s few firms solely focused on mental health law, where your work will directly contribute to protecting the rights and dignity of those under the Mental Health Act.

The successful candidate will ideally begin their traineeship as soon as possible in 2025.
