We are looking to recruit a solicitor to join our busy Member Registration team. As well as maintaining the records of all Scottish solicitors and issuing practising certificates, the team are often the first port of call for queries relating to membership and setting up of new legal practices.

The solicitor role is a new position within the team and will be responsible for supporting the Member Registration Team and members of the profession in relation to their entitlement to practice as a solicitor, the structure of current practice units and the change to entity regulation. With a background in corporate law and an interest in regulatory law, this is a great opportunity for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities for this role:

Support the Member Registration Team on rules relating to membership queries and business structures
Provide guidance to members on business structure queries
Review and improve processes relating to business structure
To support the team in relation to future entity regulation
Assist with the review of Society Guidance

Knowledge, skills and experience:

Qualified Scottish solicitor preferably with knowledge of company/corporate work and the regulatory sector

Ability to quickly synthesise information to gain a detailed knowledge of the Society’s Rules and Guidance
Excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence – understanding a collaborative organisational culture

High level of organisational skills
