A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced English-qualified Senior Associate to join its established Infrastructure & Projects team in Glasgow or Edinburgh.

Job Description

The role involves advising public and private sector clients on complex infrastructure arrangements, with a particular focus on PFI/PPP and long-term service contracts. Working within a collaborative, cross-office team, the successful candidate will support major projects across sectors including health, education, transport, energy, water, and regeneration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide commercially focused advice on the structure and delivery of infrastructure projects and complex contractual arrangements for both public and private sector clients.
  • Support clients with operational contract management for existing PFI/PPP schemes, including variations, refinancing, performance matters and contract interpretation.
  • Advise on PFI expiry and hand-back processes in line with relevant guidance, delivering practical support on contractual obligations and future service provision.
  • Work closely with colleagues across real estate, construction, disputes, and other disciplines to support clients on multi-faceted infrastructure projects.
  • Build and manage client relationships, contributing to the development of the practice and expanding your own client base.
  • Participate in business development initiatives to support team growth.
  • Contribute to internal and external training programmes.

This position suits a lawyer with solid experience in PFI/PPP or other national PPP programmes, looking to further develop their work on high-value, complex contractual frameworks. It offers the opportunity to be involved in significant national and regional projects while contributing to the ongoing growth of a highly regarded practice.
