Senior Family Law Solicitor – Aberdeen
5+ PQE - c£75k - £95K - Comprehensive benefits Package
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Family Lawyer to join a highly regarded and well-established team in Aberdeen.
This role would particularly suit an experienced solicitor looking to take the next step in their career, with the opportunity to join at a senior level or progress towards a senior appointment as the Aberdeen practice continues to develop.
You will work alongside recognised Family Law specialists, handling a varied and high-quality caseload while benefiting from the resources, expertise and support of a substantial Scottish legal practice.
The role offers genuine scope to develop your profile within the Aberdeen market, build strong client and professional relationships and play an important part in the continued growth of the team.
You will advise individuals and families through some of the most important and sensitive periods of their lives, providing practical, empathetic and commercially focused advice.
Your work will include:
- Varied Family Law matters – Managing a broad caseload including separation, divorce, financial provision, cohabitation disputes, child law matters, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, adoption and surrogacy, together with more complex cases involving national and international considerations.
- Complex and high-value work – Advising on sophisticated financial arrangements and contentious matters, with access to specialist expertise where required.
- Client relationships – Developing trusted relationships with clients and providing clear, pragmatic and sensitive advice throughout what can often be challenging circumstances.
- Dispute resolution – Helping clients achieve positive outcomes through negotiation, mediation and alternative dispute resolution, alongside managing court proceedings where necessary.
- Collaborative working – Working closely with specialists across other practice areas to ensure clients receive comprehensive and joined-up legal advice.
- Business development – Building relationships within the Aberdeen professional community, developing referral networks and helping strengthen the team’s presence across the North-East.
- Growth and progression – Playing an active role in the future development of the Aberdeen Family Law practice, with genuine scope for increased responsibility and career progression.
We are particularly interested in speaking with experienced Family Lawyers seeking a senior appointment or a clear route towards one.
You will ideally bring:
- Strong experience across a broad range of Scottish Family Law matters.
- The confidence and technical ability to manage your own caseload with a high degree of autonomy.
- Experience dealing with complex or higher-value matters would be advantageous.
- Excellent client-handling skills and the ability to provide reassurance and sound judgement in sensitive situations.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to resolving disputes.
- Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
- An interest in business development and building your professional network.
- A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for contributing to the continued growth of the team.
