The position can be based from Glasgow or Edinburgh. This is a newly created role and represents a clear step between Associate and Partner, offering genuine leadership responsibility and long-term progression.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing a predominantly executries-focused caseload, including complex estates, with minimal supervision.
Advising clients on executries, wills, powers of attorney, trusts and inheritance tax matters.
Supervising and supporting solicitors, trainees, paralegals and support staff, including delegation and review of work.
Working closely with the responsible Partner on team performance, resourcing and financial matters.
Contributing to business development, cross-referrals and growth of the Private Client practice.
Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and firm-wide risk requirements.
Applicants should have a minimum of 6 years’ PQE in private client work, with strong experience in executries and estate administration under Scots law. Previous team leadership or supervisory experience is important. Dual qualification would be advantageous, though not essential, and STEP qualification is preferred (with support available to obtain this if not already held). Candidates should be confident handling complex matters, commercially aware, and motivated by progression toward partnership.
You will be joining a supportive and collaborative private client team with a strong reputation in this area. The firm offers a competitive salary and benefits. If this role sounds of interest, please contact Cameron or Teddie for a confidential discussion. (Assignment 18360)
