An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious Private Client Senior Associate/Legal Director to join a highly regarded team in Dundee.
Working within one of Scotland’s respected full-service law firms, you’ll advise a diverse client base on sophisticated Private Client and private wealth matters, working closely with experienced Partners while taking a leading role in complex client work.

It’s about:
Leading complex Private Client matters – Advising individuals, families, trustees and high-net-worth clients across wills, succession and estate planning, inheritance tax, powers of attorney, trusts, executries and wider private wealth matters.
Managing high-value and technical work – Taking ownership of complex estates, trusts and wealth planning matters, using your technical expertise and commercial judgement to deliver practical solutions.
Building trusted client relationships – Developing long-term relationships with individuals and families, providing clear, sensitive and pragmatic advice tailored to their personal and financial circumstances.
Taking a leadership role – Working closely with Partners while supporting and mentoring junior solicitors and paralegals, sharing your knowledge and contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team.
Contributing to growth – Playing an active role in business development, strengthening existing client and professional relationships and identifying opportunities to grow the Private Client practice.
Developing your career – Taking on increasing responsibility and building your profile within the team, with genuine opportunities for further progression.
Driving innovation – Embracing technology and smarter ways of working to improve efficiency, enhance services and deliver an outstanding client experience.
We are interested to hear an established Private Client lawyer who combines strong technical expertise with excellent client relationship skills and the ambition to continue developing their career.
Significant experience advising on Private Client matters, ideally at Associate, Senior Associate or Legal Director level.
Strong technical knowledge across areas such as executries, estate and succession planning, inheritance tax, trusts and private wealth.
Experience handling complex and high-value estates, trusts and wealth planning matters.
The confidence to manage your own caseload and take the lead on sophisticated client work.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with an empathetic and client-focused approach.
The ability and willingness to mentor and support more junior members of the team.
A proactive approach to business development and an interest in developing your own professional network and client relationships.
A collaborative and forward-thinking mindset, combined with a commitment to the highest professional standards.
The ambition to take on greater responsibility and make a meaningful contribution to the continued success and growth of the team.
