Kas & Co Solicitors is expanding its Immigration Department and is seeking an ambitious Scottish-qualified solicitor to join our specialist practice in Glasgow.

This is an excellent opportunity to undertake varied and meaningful work across asylum, immigration, nationality, human rights, deportation, business immigration, sponsor licence compliance and judicial review. The successful candidate will handle both legal aid and privately funded matters while working within a friendly and supportive team.

We welcome applications from experienced immigration solicitors. We are also happy to consider newly qualified Scottish solicitors who have relevant immigration experience or can demonstrate strong potential, commitment and enthusiasm for developing a long-term career in immigration law.

For a newly qualified solicitor, this role offers structured supervision, mentoring and valuable practical experience, together with genuine opportunities for professional development, increased responsibility and future promotion.

The Role

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:

• Managing a varied caseload of legal aid and privately funded immigration matters.
• Advising clients on immigration, asylum, nationality and human rights law.
• Preparing immigration applications, appeals and administrative reviews.
• Drafting and submitting Pre-Action Protocol correspondence.
• Preparing and progressing judicial review proceedings.
• Instructing and liaising with counsel and other professionals.
• Representing clients before the First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber), where appropriate.
• Advising employers on sponsor licence compliance and Skilled Worker matters.
• Maintaining high standards of client care, file management and regulatory compliance.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be qualified as a solicitor in Scotland and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practising certificate.
• Have relevant experience or a sound understanding of UK immigration and asylum law.
• Demonstrate strong legal research and drafting skills.
• Have excellent communication, organisational and case-management abilities.
• Be professional, proactive and committed to delivering high-quality client care.
• Be able to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
