Join our specialist immigration practice undertaking both legal aid and privately funded work across asylum, immigration, nationality, human rights, deportation, business immigration, sponsor licence compliance and judicial review.

Scottish Qualified Immigration Solicitor

We are seeking a Solicitor qualified in Scotland with experience in UK immigration, asylum and nationality law.

We are primarily looking for an experienced immigration solicitor capable of managing a varied caseload independently. However, applications are also welcomed from newly qualified Scottish solicitors who have relevant immigration experience or can demonstrate strong potential, commitment and the ability to learn quickly. Full supervision and mentoring will be provided.

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience.

The role includes:

  • Managing legal aid and privately funded immigration matters.
  • Preparing applications, appeals, administrative reviews and judicial review proceedings.
  • Drafting and submitting Pre-Action Protocol letters.
  • Instructing and liaising with counsel.
  • Representing clients before the First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) where appropriate.
  • Advising employers on sponsor licence and Skilled Worker matters.

Essential requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor in Scotland with a current practising certificate.
  • Sound knowledge of UK immigration and asylum law.
  • Excellent drafting, advocacy and case management skills.
  • Strong communication and client care skills.
