Job Description

Due to continued growth, our busy but relaxed general high street practice on the south side of Glasgow seeks a solicitor with minimum 2 years PQE to join our residential property team. Must demonstrate a professional manner, show initiative and communicate well with colleagues and clients.  In exchange you will work within a supportive team and the firm is open to career progression and training or other certifications.

Main duties will include:-

  • All aspects of residential purchase and sale transactions;
  • New build purchases;
  • Re-mortgages (including equity release);
  • Matrimonial transfers of title;
  • Executry transfers of title;
  • Removal/evacuation of survivorship destination;
  • Discharges of securities;
  • Title examination and reporting to client and lender as appropriate;
  • Missives;
  • Speaking with clients over the phone and meeting clients in person;
  • Training and supervision of trainees and other junior members of staff;
  • AML and other regulatory compliance.

Experience of commercial conveyancing, including leases, would be beneficial but not essential.

The position would most likely be based in our Clarkston office.  We are open to applicants who wish to work full time or part time.  Candidates will have to successfully complete a probationary period. This role also requires you to work from the office as we place a premium on teamworking.

A competitive salary will be paid commensurate with experience.  Full time staff members are entitled to 4 weeks paid annual leave plus 10 public holidays each year.  The office closes between Christmas and New Year.
