Job Description

 

Oculus have been retained to assist our client, a firm with longstanding roots in the East of Scotland, with a key Residential Property Director appointment in Edinburgh as they continue to grow their Residential Conveyancing practice. This hire is driven by the firm’s commitment to strengthening senior leadership in the property team, allowing the successful individual to lead a high-quality conveyancing practice, influence client relationships, and play a pivotal role within the firm’s senior leadership team. The role offers significant responsibility, managing a team of conveyancing solicitors and handling a broad range of residential property matters from standard sales and purchases to portfolio transactions for high-net-worth and investor clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Residential Conveyancing team, providing guidance and mentoring to solicitors and trainees
  • Oversee a varied residential property caseload, ensuring high-quality advice and service delivery
  • Maintain and develop strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for major clients
  • Contribute to business development and strategic initiatives within the practice
  • Play an active role within the senior leadership team, helping shape the direction and growth of the firm

 

About You

  • Scottish qualified Solicitor with 7+ years PQE in Residential Property, with significant experience at a senior level.
  • Proven experience managing colleagues to support and develop their own career paths
  • Strong commercial and client-focused mindset
  • Motivated by the opportunity to lead and develop a practice, influence strategy, and contribute at a senior leadership level
  • Comfortable operating in a growing practice with visibility and influence across the firm
