This is an excellent opportunity to undertake a specialist litigation and advocacy role, managing professional conduct prosecutions and appeals involving Scottish solicitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing a varied caseload of professional misconduct prosecutions and appeals
Preparing pleadings, legal advice, procedural documentation and correspondence
Representing the organisation at hearings before the Scottish Solicitors’ Discipline Tribunal and relevant Sheriff Court proceedings
Investigating, analysing and assessing evidence to support regulatory and disciplinary cases
Building effective relationships with stakeholders, including tribunals, solicitors, committee members and external representatives
Contributing to improvements in processes and supporting the ongoing development of the team
Applicants should be Scottish qualified solicitors with a current practising certificate and strong experience in litigation, administrative law, regulatory matters, disciplinary proceedings, or related areas. Candidates should be confident advocates, possess excellent analytical and communication skills, and be comfortable managing a demanding caseload independently.
You will be joining a specialist team offering exposure to complex and high-profile regulatory work, with opportunities to develop advocacy and decision-making skills in a unique legal environment. Hybrid working is available, with occasional travel required for tribunal and court hearings.
