This is an opportunity to join a boutique Glasgow practice where the focus is very much on delivering a highly personalised service to an established client base, many of whom are high and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, business owners and families who return to the firm time and again for trusted advice.
As a key member of the team, you'll advise clients on a broad range of private client matters including succession planning, inheritance tax mitigation, wills, powers of attorney, executries and trusts. Much of the work is complex in nature, giving you the opportunity to become involved in sophisticated estate and tax planning, trust creation and administration, HMRC negotiations and helping clients preserve wealth across generations.
This is the kind of role where technical ability is genuinely valued. You'll be encouraged to think commercially, build lasting relationships with your clients and become a trusted adviser rather than simply progressing files from one stage to the next.
You'll ideally have around three years' PQE or more and be confident managing your own caseload with minimal supervision. Experience advising on inheritance tax planning, trusts and estate administration will stand you in good stead, while excellent communication skills and a meticulous eye for detail are essential.
If you are STEP qualified, or working towards the qualification, that's certainly of interest, as would experience of guardianships, intervention orders, contentious trusts or estates, or cross-border estate planning. However, these are by no means essential.
In return, you'll join a close-knit, collaborative team where quality is never compromised, you'll work alongside highly regarded private client specialists, continue to develop your technical expertise and enjoy genuine opportunities to progress your career within a growing boutique practice.
Whether you're looking for more interesting work, the opportunity to work with a high-quality client base or simply want to join a boutique firm where your expertise will be recognised and valued, this is a role well worth exploring.
