Based in Edinburgh, you will take on an established caseload covering a mix of Road Traffic Accidents, Employer’s Liability, Public Liability and Occupier’s Liability claims, so this certainly isn't a role where you will find yourself dealing with the same type of case day in, day out.
There is a strong litigation focus and you will principally deal with cases in the Sheriff Courts, including the All Scotland Sheriff Personal Injury Court in Edinburgh. You should therefore already have good Sheriff Court litigation experience, while any Court of Session exposure would also be welcomed.
You will have responsibility for your own cases and clients but will work alongside experienced colleagues, so there is support there when you need it.
For me, the client side of this role is just as important as the technical experience. You will often be dealing with people at a difficult time in their lives, so you should be someone who enjoys building relationships, communicates well and genuinely cares about providing a good service.
I am keen to speak with Solicitors who have good Personal Injury experience, are confident managing their own workload and enjoy negotiating and progressing cases through litigation.
In return, you will join a close knit and experienced team, inherit an established caseload and have plenty of opportunity to continue developing your litigation experience and career.
I would expect the salary to be in the region of £43,000 to £55,000 depending on experience.
