Job Description

We are seeking a newly qualified solicitor (up to 3 years PQE) to join our busy criminal defence team. Based in the Lothian and Borders area, the role involves representing clients in courts including Edinburgh, Selkirk, and Jedburgh, with potential for travel to other courts as required.

You will enjoy a varied and interesting caseload from day one, working within a supportive environment that values training and mentorship. This is an excellent opportunity to build experience and confidence in criminal defence advocacy and casework.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who is:

• A qualified solicitor (NQ – 3 years PQE)
• Positive, enthusiastic, and eager to learn
• Able to manage a varied workload with professionalism and integrity
• In possession of a full UK driving licence (essential for court travel)
• A team player with strong communication skills

Previous criminal defence experience is welcome but not essential – full support and guidance will be provided.
