NQ Personal Injury Solicitor | Glasgow | Opportunity to join a growing Scottish law firm. Manage your own caseload, deliver excellent client outcomes, and progress within a supportive team amid increasing high-quality personal injury work.

Job Description

We are currently working with an established Scottish firm seeking an NQ Solicitor to join its growing Motor and Credit Hire team, ideally based in Glasgow but they are open to Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor looking to develop their career within a specialist litigation environment, working on a high-volume caseload of Credit Hire and Road Traffic Accident claims with the support of experienced solicitors.

The Role

You will manage your own caseload of Credit Hire and Motor claims, taking responsibility for matters from initial instruction through to settlement or litigation. The role will provide exposure to the full claims process, including:

  • Managing a caseload of Credit Hire and RTA claims.
  • Assessing liability, quantum and prospects of success.
  • Progressing claims through pre-litigation and Scottish court processes.
  • Drafting pleadings, statements, correspondence and other legal documentation.
  • Preparing cases for hearings and instructing Counsel where appropriate.
  • Negotiating settlements with opponents and insurers.
  • Liaising with clients and other relevant parties throughout the lifecycle of a claim.
  • Managing deadlines and ensuring files progress efficiently in line with procedural requirements.
  • Working closely with colleagues to achieve the best possible outcomes across the caseload.

About You

We are interested in speaking with NQ Solicitors who have a genuine interest in developing a career within Motor and Credit Hire litigation.

  • Previous exposure to Personal Injury, RTA, Motor or Credit Hire work, whether during your traineeship or prior legal experience.
  • An understanding of Scottish civil court procedure.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A confident and professional approach to client care.
  • The ambition to develop technically within a specialist litigation environment.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is a strong opportunity for an NQ looking to build a genuine specialism in Motor and Credit Hire litigation rather than joining a generalist Personal Injury practice. You will receive support from experienced members of the team while being given increasing responsibility for your own caseload as your experience develops. The team is continuing to grow, providing clear opportunities for progression and longer-term career development. Hybrid working is available.
