A great opportunity for an NQ Litigation Solicitor to join an established Glasgow city-centre team, offering quality work, experienced support and an excellent platform to develop your career post-qualification.

Job Description

We are delighted to be supporting a well-established and highly respected Scottish law firm with the appointment of a Litigation Solicitor at NQ level to join its Glasgow team. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified Solicitor who is looking to build their career within an established Litigation team, working alongside experienced practitioners and gaining exposure to a varied range of contentious matters.

The firm offers the opportunity to develop your technical expertise, build client relationships and learn from experienced colleagues within a supportive and established environment. For someone looking to make the right first move post-qualification, rather than simply taking the next available role, I think this is well worth exploring.

Why Join?

  • Established Glasgow practice – Join a respected Scottish firm with a strong presence in the Glasgow legal market.
  • Established Litigation team – Work alongside experienced practitioners with a strong depth of knowledge across contentious work.
  • Quality work – Gain exposure to a varied caseload and work with a broad range of clients.
  • Excellent development opportunity – A strong environment for an NQ to continue developing their technical ability and confidence as a newly qualified Solicitor.
  • Experienced colleagues around you – Benefit from working alongside practitioners who can provide support, guidance and valuable practical experience.
  • Long-term career opportunity – Build your career within an established Scottish practice with the opportunity to develop as a Litigation Solicitor.

The Role

You’ll join an established Litigation team and work alongside experienced Solicitors on a varied caseload. The role will provide exposure to a range of contentious matters, with responsibilities developing as your experience grows. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist with and manage a varied Litigation caseload
  • Advise clients on contentious matters
  • Undertake legal research and prepare written advice
  • Draft correspondence, pleadings and other legal documentation
  • Liaise with clients, Counsel and other professional advisers
  • Attend meetings, negotiations and court-related matters where appropriate
  • Continue developing your technical and client-facing skills

The role is designed to give an ambitious NQ the opportunity to build a strong foundation in Litigation, with appropriate support from more experienced colleagues.

About You

I’m keen to speak with Scottish Qualified Solicitors at NQ level who have completed a traineeship with meaningful exposure to Litigation.

  • Completed a Scottish traineeship with Litigation experience
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in Litigation
  • Strong academic and technical ability
  • Good drafting and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A willingness to learn and develop
  • The ambition to build a long-term career within Litigation

Whether you’re actively considering your first move post-qualification or simply curious about what else is available, I’d be delighted to have a confidential conversation.
