Job Description

We are a host organisation for the Justice First Fellowship, a programme run by the Legal Education Foundation to support aspiring social justice lawyers to complete their training and develop projects that improve access to justice.

What We’re Looking For

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

Essential: 

  • Ability to obtain an entrance certificate issued by the Law Society of Scotland allowing entry into a legal traineeship in Scotland

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of UK and European human rights law and procedure
  • Understanding of the experiences of at-risk and marginalised communities in the UK

 

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Excellent written and oral English communication
  • Ability to complete tasks to a high standard with minimal supervision
  • Team-focused, flexible and supportive approach
  • Strong time-management and organisational skills
  • Ability to develop effective collaborative working relationships
  • Confident use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Desirable:

  • Experience working cross-sector or with partner organisations
  • Experience delivering professional training or public legal education
  • Experience contributing to policy or influencing work

 

Qualities

  • Commitment to human rights and access to justice
  • Inclusive, rights-based approach to working with clients
  • Understanding and commitment to equal opportunities and diversity

 

Timeline:
