This senior appointment focuses on advising across the energy and utilities sector, reflecting Scotland’s fast-evolving landscape in renewables, infrastructure, and clean energy projects.
The team acts for a diverse client base including developers, utilities, funders, contractors, and public bodies. Work spans the full lifecycle of major energy projects — from site assembly and planning consents to grid connections, supply agreements, financing, and regulatory compliance. You will play a pivotal role in helping clients navigate complex legal frameworks, structure major transactions, and deliver landmark projects across technologies such as offshore and onshore wind, hydrogen, battery storage, clean heat, and nuclear.
Applicants should be qualified senior solicitors with at least 7 years’ PQE level and a strong track record in non-contentious construction matters, ideally with significant experience in the energy sector. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client-handling skills are essential, as is the ability to lead on complex mandates, develop client relationships, and mentor junior colleagues. A demonstrable business plan or existing following would be preferred.
This is a full-time position with a firm that offers competitive remuneration, and the opportunity to shape its energy-focused, construction practice at leadership level. If this position could be of interest, please contact Frasia or Cameron for an initial and confidential discussion. (Assignment 17785)
