This well-established law firm is recruiting a Legal Director or Partner to join its Energy team in Edinburgh.

Job Description

This senior position reflects the firm’s commitment to the fast-evolving energy and utilities sector, advising on major infrastructure and renewable energy projects across Scotland and beyond.

The role will focus on supporting clients across the full life cycle of energy developments. Work includes site assembly and planning, grid connection and supply arrangements, project finance, and mergers and acquisitions, as well as advising on regulatory compliance and community ownership structures. The team advises developers, utilities, investors, funders, and public bodies on projects across technologies including wind, hydrogen, nuclear, battery storage, clean heat, and energy distribution.

Applicants should have at least 7 years’ PQE with extensive experience in energy law, ideally covering non-contentious construction, project finance, and regulatory issues. Strong technical expertise, commercial awareness, and the ability to lead complex mandates are essential, alongside proven skills in client development and team leadership.

Candidates with a clear business plan or the potential to build a strong client following will be ideal. If this position could be of interest, please contact Cameron or Frasia for an initial and confidential discussion. (Assignment 17782)
