Legal Counsel

Job Description

We are excited to post this new opportunity with our fast growing business. The role is our first Legal Counsel role, so you will play a pivotal role in building and shaping the legal support across the business. You will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and wider leadership team.  

The role, main areas of responsibility:

• Lead on contract negotiation, legal risk management and compliance;
• Provide legal input on regulatory and risk matters (UK, Australia and other territories);
• Support procurement and contract lifecycle processes;
• Advise on IP, licensing and data privacy, including GDPR compliance;
• Manage external counsel where appropriate;
• Liaise with leadership on legal risk management;
• Deliver internal training and guidance on contract and legal risk matters;

Key Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales, Scotland, or equivalent jurisdiction;
• 2-4 years’ PQE, ideally with experience in SaaS, tech or software;
• Strong experience in commercial contract negotiation and legal drafting;
• Good knowledge of data protection – UK GDPR;
• Confident in operating autonomously and advising senior leadership;
• Comfortable working in a high-growth; PE-backed environment;
