An established organisation is recruiting for an Interim In-house Solicitor to join its legal team in Edinburgh.

Job Description

The role involves supporting a wide range of stakeholders, including congregations, councils, committees, and other associated bodies, on diverse legal matters.

The position covers both contentious and non-contentious work, with particular emphasis on employment law advice. Key responsibilities include drafting contracts, policies, and guidance to support the employment of staff at a local level, advising on compliance issues, and handling charity and trust queries. The role also extends to investigating and prosecuting disciplinary complaints, advising on contracts (including IT and care services), and providing representation in disputes when required.

Applicants should be a qualified solicitor with a minimum of 5 years’ PQE level, and have strong experience in employment law and broader exposure to contract, compliance, and charity matters. Excellent drafting skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a busy in-house legal team are essential.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a well-respected organisation in a role offering variety, responsibility, and meaningful impact. If this position could be of interest, please contact Teddie or Cameron for an initial and confidential discussion. (Assignment 17768)
