Family Law Partner - Glasgow

Job Description

Family Law Partner – Glasgow

Partner Level | Highly Competitive Remuneration c£155K+ | Comprehensive Benefits Package

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an established Family Law Partner to join the top-tier Legal 500 Family Law practice of a leading Scottish law firm in Glasgow.

This is a significant senior appointment offering an experienced Family Lawyer the opportunity to join a highly regarded and successful practice, working alongside recognised specialists and benefiting from the strength, resources and cross-referral opportunities of a substantial Scottish legal business.

The firm is keen to speak with an established Partner, Legal Director or senior Family Law practitioner who has the experience, market profile and ambition to play an influential role in the continued development and growth of its Glasgow Family Law offering.

This is not simply a lateral move. It represents an opportunity to join a firm with the platform, reputation and infrastructure to support an ambitious lawyer in further developing their practice, client base and professional profile.

The Opportunity

As a senior member of the Family Law practice, you will have considerable autonomy and the opportunity to influence the future direction and growth of the team.

Your role will include:

Leading complex Family Law matters – Advising on sophisticated and high-value divorce, separation, financial provision, cohabitation, child law and relationship-planning matters.
High-net-worth work – Acting for individuals, families, business owners and professionals on cases involving substantial property portfolios, business interests, investments, pensions, trusts and other complex assets.
Strategic client relationships – Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and new clients, providing pragmatic, commercial and highly personalised advice.
Practice development – Playing a key role in shaping and growing the Glasgow Family Law practice and identifying opportunities for further expansion.
Business development – Developing your existing network while leveraging the firm's established client base, professional connections and cross-referral opportunities.
Leadership and mentoring – Supporting, developing and mentoring junior and senior lawyers within the team and contributing to succession planning and future talent development.
Cross-practice collaboration – Working closely with colleagues across Private Client, Corporate, Property, Tax and other specialist teams to provide a comprehensive service to clients.
Market profile – Representing the practice externally and continuing to build both your own profile and the firm's reputation within the Scottish Family Law market.

About You

We are particularly interested in speaking confidentially with established Family Law Partners, Legal Directors and senior lawyers operating at or approaching Partner level.

You will ideally bring:

Significant experience across Scottish Family Law, with particular expertise in complex and high-value matters.
An established professional profile and strong reputation within the market.
A demonstrable ability to develop and maintain valuable client and referrer relationships.
An existing client following or credible business case for developing additional revenue would be highly advantageous.
Strong commercial awareness and an entrepreneurial approach to practice development.
The ability to identify and convert new business opportunities.
Excellent leadership, communication and relationship-management skills.
A genuine interest in mentoring and developing other lawyers.
The ambition to contribute strategically to the continued growth of a leading Family Law practice.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

For the right individual, this represents a genuine strategic career opportunity rather than simply another Partner move.

You will be joining a top-tier Legal 500 Family Law practice with an established reputation, strong infrastructure and access to a substantial client base and internal referral network.

The firm offers the opportunity to retain your individual identity and client relationships while benefiting from a wider platform capable of supporting further growth.

Whether you are an established Partner considering your next move, or a highly regarded Legal Director or senior practitioner who feels the route to Partnership within your current firm is limited, this opportunity offers the scope to have a meaningful influence on the future direction of the practice.

Please contact Michelle Beaumont for further infrmation. All approaches and initial discussions will be treated in the strictest confidence.
