Sometimes you find yourself in a team that doesn’t quite fit, or you enjoy the work but never really get the chance to meet clients and see the difference your advice makes. If that sounds familiar, this could be the move that sets things right.
I’m working with a respected employment team in Edinburgh that’s looking to bring in a solicitor with around NQ to 3 years’ PQE. The work is focused on respondent matters, acting for employers across the private, third and public sectors. It’s a genuinely varied mix – tribunals, day-to-day advisory, drafting contracts and policies, and supporting businesses with the employment law challenges that crop up along the way.
What sets this role apart is the client contact. You won’t be tucked away in the background, you’ll be speaking with HR teams, business owners and senior managers from the outset, building relationships and developing the confidence that comes with being a trusted adviser. The partners here are approachable and supportive, and they know how important it is to give junior lawyers the right blend of supervision and autonomy.
Whether you’re newly qualified and wishing you’d taken a different path, or you’re enjoying your current role but frustrated by how little client-facing exposure you get, this is a chance to join a team that will put you right at the heart of things. While the role is based in Edinburgh, the team is more than happy to hear from strong candidates in Glasgow too.
