Job Description

If you're a Dispute Resolution Associate with 4+ years’ PQE—and you’ve carved out a niche in property litigation, contentious construction, or commercial contract disputes—then this is the kind of opportunity that doesn’t come around often.

I’m working with one of Scotland’s leading independent firms—a practice with deep roots in the local market, a rock-solid client base, and the lowest staff turnover in the country. That’s not just a nice-to-have. It speaks to a culture where people are supported, careers are nurtured, and progression is built around long-term development—not burnout.

The disputes team here is thriving. From complex landlord and tenant issues and boundary and title conditions disputes to construction fallouts and contract breaches, they’re handling high-value, often business-critical work—and doing it with a collaborative, no-silo approach. The litigation is Scottish-led and grounded in strong client relationships, not patching up overflow from elsewhere in the UK.

Whether you’re in Glasgow or Edinburgh, you’ll be stepping into a role with real ownership. You’ll manage your own caseload, advise commercial clients across sectors, and play a central role in matters involving technical property issues, construction contracts (think NEC, SBCC, JCT), and commercial disputes with a contentious twist.

They’re looking for someone with solid technical experience, sound judgement, and the confidence to run with files and contribute to strategy. You might have a mix of experience—some pure property litigation, some construction disputes, some commercial contracts work—but what matters most is your ability to handle contentious work with autonomy, clarity, and commercial awareness.

Why this firm? Because people stay. The firm has a genuine track record of internal promotion, transparent routes to Senior Associate and beyond, and a leadership team that backs their lawyers to grow—not grind. You’ll be part of a team where collaboration is standard, flexibility is built-in (not begrudging), and your contributions are noticed.

The salary? Strong. The culture? Supportive. The future? Yours to shape.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign that it’s time to move to a firm where people build lasting careers, this is probably it.
