There's rather more to personal injury litigation than arguing about who drove into the back of whom. Although, admittedly, that does keep a fair number of lawyers occupied.

Job Description

I'm interested in speaking with Personal Injury Solicitors in Glasgow, particularly those with around 1-4 years PQE who enjoy getting into the detail of liability, evidence and litigation strategy.

There's some interesting recruitment activity in the Scottish defendant personal injury market at present.

And I think employers' liability and public liability work deserves a bit more attention.

Workplace accidents.

Public liability claims.

Complicated questions around responsibility.

Disputes where understanding precisely what happened, what should have happened and who was responsible can make all the difference.

It's an area where good technical lawyers can really distinguish themselves.

Particularly those who enjoy investigating claims, assessing evidence and developing a sensible strategy rather than simply processing another file.

I'm especially interested in speaking with solicitors who already have experience defending EL/PL claims.

Perhaps you're looking for exposure to more substantial matters.

Perhaps you'd welcome the opportunity to develop your technical expertise.

Or perhaps you're simply interested in understanding how your experience compares with what's available elsewhere in Glasgow.

I'd also welcome conversations with solicitors currently working on the pursuer side.

I think we sometimes underestimate how transferable that experience can be.

If you've spent several years pursuing workplace accident claims, you'll have developed a pretty good understanding of the arguments defenders make.

You'll know what strong evidence looks like.

You'll know where liability disputes tend to arise.

And you'll probably have a fairly good idea of the tactics that work and those that don't.

That experience can be valuable on either side of the fence.

Of course, not everyone wants to change sides.

And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

But if you're beginning to wonder whether your next career move should involve something a little different, it's worth having the conversation.

There's recruitment activity across both pursuer and defender personal injury practices in Glasgow, and the market is worth exploring for solicitors who enjoy contentious work.

I'm particularly interested in lawyers who want to build their technical ability, develop their judgement and become increasingly confident handling complex claims.

Because there's a big difference between being able to manage a caseload and becoming the person colleagues turn to when a case gets difficult.

And I think that's an important distinction when you're considering where to spend the next few years of your career.

If you're a Personal Injury Solicitor in Glasgow with around 1-4 years PQE and would like a confidential conversation about the market, contact Neil Campbell at QED Legal.

I'll give you a straightforward view of the opportunities I'm seeing, where your experience might fit and whether there's anything genuinely worth exploring.
