Contentious Private Client Solicitor

Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with experience in private client litigation to take ownership of a varied caseload while helping to further develop the firm's contentious private client offering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing a caseload of contentious private client matters, including disputes relating to wills, trusts, executries, estates and succession
• Advising clients on complex private client and succession issues, providing clear, practical and commercially focused guidance
• Conducting litigation and representing clients in court proceedings where required
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, counsel and other professional advisers while contributing to the continued growth of the department

Applicants should have at least 4 years PQE level and experience in contentious private client work, together with a strong understanding of Scottish succession, trust and executry law. Candidates should be confident managing their own caseload with minimal supervision, possess excellent communication and client care skills, and be comfortable handling sensitive and often complex disputes. A general litigation candidate interested in the opportunity to specialise would also be considered.
