This is a fantastic role for a junior lawyer seeking to build a career in contentious construction, with exposure to high-quality and complex disputes across the UK.
This position is suited to candidates at NQ – 4 years’ PQE level, ideally with experience or a strong interest in contentious construction work. The team advises a wide range of clients – including contractors, sub-contractors, employers, and professional consultants – on disputes across the infrastructure, energy, utilities, renewables, and commercial development sectors. The role includes involvement in adjudication, arbitration, mediation, and court proceedings, including work in the Technology and Construction Court (TCC) and the Court of Session.
The successful candidate will support on complex claims, assist with settlements and dispute-related agreements, and contribute to the delivery of practical and commercially focused advice. The team is also open to considering applications from candidates with experience in other areas of litigation – such as civil, commercial, or personal injury – provided they have a genuine interest in this area. You will also be encouraged to take part in business development, knowledge-sharing, and firm-wide initiatives, with support to develop advocacy and client relationship skills.
