This ad is aimed squarely at solicitors with a following who’ve been toying with the idea of setting up on their own, but can’t quite face everything that comes with it behind the scenes.

Job Description

Because let’s be honest, it’s not the legal work that puts people off, it’s the rest of it.

If that sounds familiar, this chambers-style firm could be exactly what you’ve been looking for. QED Legal’s client has built a consultancy model specifically for lawyers who want the freedom of running their own practice, without the admin, compliance headaches and financial exposure that usually come with it. It’s designed for solicitors with an existing client following who are ready to step away from office politics and glass ceilings, but still want proper support around them.

In return, you’ll keep 70% of what you bill, and the firm will take care of everything else. That means compliance, IT, billing, chasing fees and all the regulatory responsibilities are handled for you, so you can focus on what actually matters.

You’ll have complete flexibility over how you work. If you want to put in long hours and build something quickly, you can. If you’d rather work smarter, from home, and keep things more balanced, that works just as well. There’s no fixed way of doing things here, it’s entirely up to you.

The only real expectation is that you look after your clients, do good work and generate the income you want to earn. If your following is worth in the region of £250k a year or more, this becomes a very straightforward decision.

You’ll be joining a group of lawyers with strong Legal 500 commercial backgrounds, covering everything from corporate and private equity through to employment, commercial property, banking, funds and restructuring. It’s a genuinely high calibre environment, just without the usual constraints.

Most importantly, it gives you the chance to build something for yourself without the usual risks of going it alone. You’re not left worrying about cover when you take a holiday, or how you’d cope as a sole practitioner, because the support is already there.

So if this is something you’ve been thinking about, the question really is… why haven’t you picked up the phone yet?
