Top-Tier International Firm | Strategic Growth Opportunity

Job Description

Are you a senior construction disputes lawyer with a strong track record, looking to elevate your career within a leading international platform? Whether you’re established in the Scottish market or considering a strategic move to one of the UK’s most vibrant legal hubs, this opportunity could offer the next defining step in your career.

QED Legal is working with a prestigious global law firm, renowned for its dominant position in the construction and infrastructure sectors. As part of their long-term growth strategy in Scotland, the firm is looking to appoint a Contentious Construction Partner to lead and grow its offering in Edinburgh.

This is a high-profile role for a senior lawyer with vision—someone ready to take the reins of a well-established pipeline of high-value disputes work, while also shaping the future of the team. You’ll have the freedom to lead, innovate and build, backed by the full weight of a Tier 1 international brand and a deeply resourced disputes platform.

While an existing client following is welcome, it is by no means a prerequisite. What matters most is your market insight, leadership qualities, and appetite to drive forward a practice that’s ready to expand. You’ll be supported by a collaborative national and international construction disputes team, and you’ll work with household name clients on some of the most significant and complex disputes in the UK and beyond.

Whether you’re already at Partner level or a Legal Director/Senior Associate who has hit a ceiling and is looking for a genuine route to partnership, this role offers exceptional scope and visibility.

What’s on offer:

A leading international brand with top tier credentials in construction and infrastructure

Clear strategic investment in the Scottish market

Genuine autonomy to shape and grow the practice

High-quality work and cross-border mandates

A strong internal culture of collaboration, support and ambition
