Clinical Negligence Solicitor (NQ–3 PQE) – Edinburgh Are you a personal injury solicitor ready to take the next step into more complex, meaningful work?

Job Description

If you’ve built a foundation on either the pursuer or defender side and are looking to move into clinical negligence and historic abuse litigation, this is an opportunity to develop real expertise in some of the most challenging and impactful areas of law.

QED Legal’s client — a firm we’ve partnered with closely over a number of years — continues to grow its Edinburgh team and is now seeking two solicitors (NQ–3 PQE) to join its specialist practice.

You’ll be working on a broad range of clinical negligence matters, alongside exposure to high-profile and sensitive historic abuse claims. This is work that demands technical ability, sound judgement, and empathy — offering both professional challenge and the chance to make a genuine difference.

What sets this opportunity apart is the level of support and development on offer. You’ll work closely with highly experienced Partners and senior lawyers who are known for investing time in mentoring and helping solicitors build confidence in new and complex areas. Whether you already have some exposure to these types of claims or are looking to transition into them, you’ll be supported every step of the way.

This is not a team where you’ll be confined to a narrow remit. Instead, you’ll be encouraged to grow into a well-rounded litigator, developing your skills across a range of complex, often high-value cases.

In return, you can expect a top-tier salary and benefits package, alongside clear and achievable progression. There are strong examples within the team of solicitors advancing to Associate level and Associates progressing towards Partnership — a reflection of the firm’s commitment to recognising and rewarding talent.

Having seen this firm evolve over the past five years, I can confidently say it offers a rare combination of high-quality work and a genuinely supportive, down-to-earth culture. It’s a collaborative environment where people work together, share knowledge, and take pride in what they do — without the hierarchy or egos often found elsewhere.

Flexibility is also a key part of the offering. Whether you prefer a more office-based routine or a hybrid approach, the structure is there to support you — allowing you to work in a way that suits your lifestyle.

If you’re looking to build a career in clinical negligence and historic abuse litigation, within a team that will actively support your development and progression, this is an opportunity worth serious consideration.
