An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established national law firm, which is recruiting a solicitor to join its Glasgow-based insurance litigation team.

Job Description

This role sits within a highly regarded Defender Insurance team, focusing on defending a broad range of claims, including employers’ liability, public liability, disease, and motor/fraud cases.

You will handle your own varied caseload of predominantly pre-litigation and litigated matters, while assisting on complex, high-value cases. The work will include a strong focus on disease and EL/PL claims, alongside exposure to motor and fraud matters. Clients include insurers, insured businesses, local authorities, and public sector bodies, with instructions received directly from both insurers and insureds. The role covers all aspects of litigation, from liability investigations through to liaising with witnesses, courts, and opponents.

Candidates with 1+ years’ PQE and solid EL/PL defence experience, along with experience managing their own caseload, will be considered. A good working knowledge of Scottish court procedures (Sheriff Court and Court of Session) is desirable.

Experience in motor, fraud, or disease claims would be advantageous. Strong communication, organisation, and time management skills, along with the ability to work to deadlines and targets, are essential. A flexible, team-focused approach is key.

This is an opportunity to join a well-regarded national firm with a strong reputation in insurance litigation and casualty defence work.
