Private Client Head of Team

Job Description

Perhaps you are currently a Senior Solicitor or Associate, you enjoy what you do and are happy where you are, but you're beginning to wonder what the next step looks like.

This could be it.

I am working with an established and highly regarded Glasgow law firm that is looking for an experienced Private Client Solicitor to take the lead within its existing team.

There is already a good foundation in place – an established client base, a small team and a firm with a long history of acting for individuals and families across generations. What they are looking for now is someone who can take that foundation and build on it.

You will have the opportunity to put your own stamp on the department.

That means supporting and developing the existing team, helping them grow in confidence and experience, whilst also looking at how the department itself can develop.

You will be encouraged to build relationships, develop new business, grow your own network and identify opportunities within the existing client base. If there are areas of Private Client work you are particularly passionate about developing, the firm is very open to hearing your ideas.

There is genuine autonomy here, but importantly you won't be expected to do it alone. You will have the support of an established management team who want to invest in and grow this part of the business.

Alongside the leadership and development element, you will continue to manage your own broad Private Client caseload including Wills, Powers of Attorney, executries, trusts and estate and succession planning.

Ideally you will have a minimum of 4 years' PQE and strong all-round Private Client experience.

You don't need to be a Head of Department already.

In fact, I think this could be particularly interesting for someone who is currently sitting at Senior Solicitor or Associate level and knows they are capable of more, but perhaps doesn't have the opportunity where they are to lead a team, develop a department or influence the direction it takes.

Initially the role will be office based in Glasgow, allowing you to really get to know the team, the firm's clients and the wider business.
