Working within a busy in-house legal team, you will be provided with a unique insight into working as a lawyer within one of the UK’s leading companies, along side stakeholders in various business areas. We’re looking for people who are critical thinkers, able to overcome a range of challenges and who are keen to progress a career within the banking industry. You’ll have first class communication skills, both written and verbal, and the interpersonal skills to negotiate and challenge as appropriate as you work to become a trusted advisor to our stakeholders. You’ll also have real initiative and an innovative mindset when it comes to your work, with a meticulous approach to problem solving and attention to detail.
The aim of our training contract scheme is to improve social mobility and diversity in the legal profession. We do not hire ‘typical’ lawyers, but place huge importance on enabling promising entrants, who may face difficulties for whatever reason in finding a contract with a law firm, to qualify as a solicitor.
To be eligible for our training contract scheme, you’ll need to possess strong academic results at and a Degree result of at least a 2:1 (or be on course to achieve a 2:1). Applicants who do not receive these grades due to personal circumstances may still be considered. Extenuating circumstances should be listed in the application form. Applicants must also have completed or be in the process of completing the Diploma in Legal Practice.
Successful applicants will follow a two year programme which will generally consist of four six month seats, across different business areas. This may include one seat with one of the leading UK law firms on our Legal Panel.
The contract will be for a two year fixed period with Legal.
