Litigation Solicitor/Senior Solicitor, Aberdeen

Eden Scott are working with their client in Aberdeen to recruit a dynamic, driven and ambitious Litigation Solicitor to join and help grow the Litigation department in one of the UK’s fastest growing law firms.  The ideal candidate will be NQ to 6 years PQE with a preferred background in commercial/civil litigation and ideally with some experience of debt recovery/finance litigation/professional negligence and property litigation.

The role will focus on working with an impressive set of clients including banks, lenders and building societies in order to recover a variety of debts and assets within the UK and internationally, carrying out complex property litigation, pursuing professional negligence claims and supporting in-house legal departments.  The role will also involve working for a variety of private clients on insolvency and commercial matters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advising clients on a variety of litigation and debt recovery matters
  • Managing a varied and heavy caseload
  • Maintaining client expectations
  • Negotiating settlements and achieving the best possible outcome for clients
  • Representing clients in court hearings and settlement meetings
  • Drafting legal documents
  • Working as a team with other members of the department to achieve common goals
  • Assisting department Paralegals
  • Promoting the department and the Firm through business development
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Attending court and having a good knowledge of court procedures is a must
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisation skills and ability to work in a pressurised environment
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
