Solicitor/Senior Solicitor, Commercial Dispute – 3+pqe - Glasgow. Hybrid Working.

£45-£60K + Excellent Benefits Package.

Highly regarded, established firm based Glasgow City Centre has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Commercial Litigation Solicitor to join their expanding Glasgow based team.

The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of commercial disputes including debt recovery and insolvency, commercial contract and company/commercial disputes. 

Candidates must have experience of representing clients in all forms of dispute resolution (litigation, mediation, etc) and must have conducted litigation in the Court of Session and Sheriff Courts.

 

Key Tasks

Manage your workload competently, professionally, efficiently and cost effectively with minimum supervision to achieve client and firm objectives.
Advise clients on whether they have a valid case and provide risk/benefit analysis of settlement or progressing with the dispute.
Gather evidence and engage with witnesses to support the client's position; develop case strategies.
Issue court proceedings or embark on a process of alternative dispute resolution.
Represent clients at hearings and case management conferences.
Instruct counsel speedily and accurately, attending briefing meetings.
Representing clients in Sheriff Court hearings, proofs and debates.
Draft pleadings efficiently and accurately.
Research and advise on various areas of dispute including insolvency, debt recovery, contract, company/commercial matters.
Be pro-active in the financial control of all your own and team matters, including accurate time recording and prompt feeing.
Contribute constructively to the work of other team members in the Litigation division and contribute to delivering technical training within the division.
Keep up to date with case law and legislative changes with relevant law.
