Job Description

About the Role:

The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service is Scotland’s public prosecution service and death investigation authority. Our work helps to ensure that Scotland is safe from crime, disorder, and danger.  We are looking for qualified solicitor or advocate to join the service as a Sheriffdom Procurator Fiscal (SPF).  This is an exciting opportunity to combine prosecution and legal experience with a track record of leadership in a challenging, focused, and fast paced environment.  We are looking for leaders who are experienced in leading change and improvement and are passionate about improving our service to victims of crime.

As SPF you will play a critical role and lead on operational responsibilities for all Summary and Sheriff and Jury prosecutions within North Strathclyde. You will support both the Deputy Crown Agent Local Court (LC) and Deputy Head of LC to meet the objectives set out within the LC Business Plan and participate in the LC Performance Board and LC Executive Board.

You will also work closely with the senior management team within North Strathclyde to ensure high quality case work is undertaken, staff are supported, and a high level of public service is provided. You will hold District Procurator Fiscal Commissions for all local offices and will work closely with other stakeholders including the Sheriff Principal, Scottish Courts and Tribunal Service Senior Business Managers, Police Commanders and Community Justice Social Work. As SPF you will be responsible for meeting departmental objectives and delivery targets relating to the sheriffdom.

If you are a confident and collaborative leader with the experience outlined in our application pack who wishes to make a difference to the prosecution of crime in Scotland, we would welcome your application.
