The Fife Law Centre is a company limited by guarantee and registered with OSCR as a charity. We are looking for a highly committed solicitor to take up a senior role within our legal team at Fife Law Centre.
Fife Law Centre was established in 2009 to provide legal representation in areas of unmet legal need across Fife. The successful candidate will require to hold an full Scottish practicing certificate and is likely to have at least 3 years PQE. Ideally, we are looking for an experienced practitioner with a background in civil litigation. The successful candidate will be part of a team providing legal advice and representation to citizens of Fife who might otherwise not be able to obtain legal representation. Knowledge and experience in Legal Aid work including Child law, Human Rights and Discrimination, Employment law and areas of Social Welfare law will be an advantage.
Although staff are employed by Fife Law Centre, in compliance with the Law Society of Scotland’s requirements, the Board appoints a Principal Solicitor who is responsible for management of a separate legal practice. This practice is supported and funded by the Fife Law Centre.
The successful candidate will be a good team player with a commitment to equality and diversity and sound communication skills. They will have an understanding of the importance of client care and an awareness of how rights and advice issues impact on the local community.
