Job Description

Edinburgh Airport is Scotland's busiest airport. More than 37 airlines serve over 220 routes and over 14 million passengers travelled through the airport in 2018. 

Start Date: August/September 2019 (or earlier) 
You will work alongside Edinburgh Airport’s Legal Director and Legal Assistant providing advice and guidance across the business. 
This is a rewarding and varied role with a very commercial focus.  It will include: 

  • Advising all areas of the business on a range of commercial contracts
  • Assisting with contractual governance processes
  • Review and implementation of airport-wide policy
  • Reviewing and advising on industry legislation and policy
  • Advising on corporate governance
  • Dispute avoidance and management
  • Practical application of the law and contractual risk management in a variety of situations
  • Giving training on legal topics 

You will be a confident and professional individual able to work in a variety of different settings and situations.  You will bring energy to the role and relish the prospect of learning about the business and being empowered to get on with the job. 
You will be used to delivering concise and pragmatic legal and contractual advice to business leaders across different disciplines, and to mentoring and managing more junior members of a team. 
You will be proficient in IT and have strong communication skills, both written and oral.  
We are looking for a motivated individual with good attention to detail, transferable legal skills and a desire to work with a high performing team in a commercial environment. 

You will have a minimum of 5 years post-qualified corporate or commercial UK legal experience.
