This firm currently have an opportunity for a Data Protection Solicitor to join the TMT team based in Glasgow.

Job Description

This firm currently have an opportunity for a Data Protection Solicitor to join the TMT team based in Glasgow, although being Edinburgh based may be considered. The ideal candidate will have between 4-6 years’ pqe (though they are open to level) and have gained experience of advising on a range of privacy/data protection documentation and legal matters from a top tier firm.  Experience gained in-house within an industry leading organisation would be beneficial.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting, reviewing and amending a range of Privacy / Data Protection documentation
  • Advising clients on a variety of Privacy and Data Protection matters
  • Supporting clients on global projects, including:
    • Managing large GDPR projects and advising on the implementation of the UK Data Protection Bill
    • Having an understanding of DP laws outside the UK
    • Data transfers
    • BCRs and Model Contracts Projects
    • Managing local lawyers
  • Contribute to BD and marketing activities
  • Coach and mentor junior members of the team
  • Provide thought leadership and raise the profile of the firm externally
