Job Description

Iconic Resourcing are proud to partner with our global client and highly regarded UK law firm with offices based in the heart of Edinburgh City Centre for the role of Senior Associate within their newly structured Real Estate team, known for their expertise in the field, extensive client list and lead by newly appointed and innovative Partner.

The Role of Senior Associate is an integral part of the Real Estate team and will involve advise clients on a wide variety of high profile domestic and international real estate investment, development and finance transactions. This includes acting for clearing banks and other lenders , investors, hoteliers, funds and insolvency practitioners on major financings, real estate disposals/acquisitions, landlord and tenant and restructuring/insolvency transactions.

You will undertake a broad and varied range of real estate work and play a fundamental role in business development and within dedicated client service teams.

The required candidate will ideally have a minimum of 5+ years PQE in a similar role or be able to demonstrate competence in the following

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial real estate documents, including sale/purchase contracts, development agreements, agreements for lease and leases
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating security documentation and ancillary property documentation on real estate finance transactions
  • Liaising with the tax, planning, construction, employment, corporate and banking teams as appropriate
  • Dealing with the usual real estate due diligence requirements such as the preparation/review of certificates/reports of title and summary report
  • Active participation in business development
  • Carrying out transactional sale/purchase, leasing and portfolio management work and general commercial property work
  • Carrying out asset management type work (eg shopping centres) and dealing with Landlord/Tenant leasing matter
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues whilst handling cross divisional matters
  • Maintain, build and strengthen client relationships whilst providing best practice solutions for their needs
  • Demonstrate effectively handling a busy caseload whilst maintaining client relations
  • Meet all deadlines and comply with all company procedures
  • Have the ability to work automatously whilst being an effective part of a wider team
