To support the delivery of our scientific colleagues we have a range of roles ranging from shepherds to IT analysts.
We are seeking to appoint an Information Governance Officer to support the Institute with its obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and coordinate and respond to requests for information made under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 and the Data Protection Act 2018. In addition, the Information Governance Officer will provide support with preparing, negotiating and finalising information related to research contracts on behalf of the Institute, including confidentiality agreements and material transfer agreements.
Working with the Research Contracts Manager and other staff across the Institute, the Information Governance Officer will be responsible for responding to requests for information, establishing and maintaining accurate systems and records which facilitate and monitor our handling of information requests and maintaining policies and procedures related to information governance and management prepared in line with current legislation and established best practice.
Candidates for this post will ideally be educated to degree level and have experience of working with senior managers in a medium/large size organisation, preferably within the higher education, research sector or third sector. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of the GDPR. The individual will have good communication and organisational skills with the ability to provide a customer-focussed service as well as good attention to detail with high standards of accuracy.
This post will be based in Dundee; there may be a requirement to occasionally travel to Aberdeen.
