Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Regulation team for a Temporary Regulation Process Analyst, 28 hours per week, £33,400pa

The Team:

You would be joining the directorate that is responsible for regulation of all Scottish solicitors and working directly with the Professional Conduct Team and the Financial Inspection Team in that Directorate. The Financial Inspection Team ensures that solicitors comply with our rules in relation to protecting client money. This dynamic team of around 11 people carries out inspections of law firm finance processes and accounts, working in the offices of law firms around Scotland and also virtually from home. The Professional Conduct team deals with all eligible conduct concerns about Scottish solicitors. They are a close-knit team of around 20, who are dedicated and motivated to improving the complaints system.

This is an important and rewarding role. You will be busy and play a key role in public protection, maintaining confidence in the legal profession and upholding proper professional standards and conduct amongst solicitors. We want to get even better at what we do and you will play a key part in helping us to improve – making life easier for our teams and becoming more efficient in how we regulate. You will have the opportunity to use your skills and experience to shape the role and how our work is done.

The Role:

This role reports into the Financial Compliance Director with a dotted line to the Head of Professional Conduct. You will mainly be responsible for designing new and improved processes and systems for the Financial Compliance Team in relation to financial inspections and for the Professional Conduct Team in relation to handling conduct complaints. You will also help to roll out those new systems and processes, delivering training to the teams as required. You will have extensive opportunity to make things better and more efficient.

The Candidate:

The role is open to business or process analysts with a proven track record of successfully delivering change and improvement. As well as relevant experience, you will have a BCS or APMG business analysis qualification, preferably at practitioner level or above. Lean Six Sigma and Agile Project Management qualifications would be an added bonus.

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and high performing team player. Someone who can combine their excellent technical skills with an outstanding ability to communicate to a wide variety of audiences with different interests. Someone who is resilient and is adaptable in a fast-paced environment. The role would suit someone with experience of working in a professional services or regulatory environment.

What will I receive in return?
