This is unique role within this collegiate London firm.
Its real estate finance team advises on a wide range of transactions which include both investment and development facilities and acts for all of the clearing banks as well as a number of international lenders, mezzanine lenders, real estate funds and other corporate borrowers.
The standalone banking team has a growing reputation within the real estate finance arena due to the arrival of a number of strategic lateral hires. As a result, it has been successful in securing some key new clients and with their existing panel positions, they intend to build the practice. With this in mind, they would now like to recruit a mid-level real estate finance lawyer to join its growing team.
Your new role would be to assist in advising on all types of real estate financings including both investment and development. The ideal candidate will have worked in a specialist real estate finance team within a top tier firm in the City and will have experience of leading transactions which involve both bilateral and multi-banked syndicated facilities.
The London banking team currently consists of 6 partners (of which four specialise in real estate finance), 2 Associate Directors, 4 Senior Associates and 4 Associates and 2 trainees.
As a guide, due to the nature of the work and the structure of the team, they are looking to appoint a lawyer with at least 4 years' PQE in this area, although they will consider candidates with more or less experience. You will have a proven track record in real estate finance, gained at a top tier firm. You will be working on a high level, complex matters that require strong technical skills in this practice area. You will also have direct client involvement and be encouraged to be involved in business development.
In addition to a good technical grounding, you will:-
• have a desire and interest in building client relationships
• have supervisory experience with the ability to co-ordinate workloads
• have the ability to present technical legal issues in a clear, approachable and professional way
• have client orientated approach and good commercial awareness
• have an appetite for business development and be passionate about helping to help build the REF business
• be a confident self-starter with a proven track record in real estate finance.
