Job Description

Very successful two partner firm of Scottish solicitors and estate agents in the historic county town of Kinross.  Many clients are commuting executives, professionals and some High Net Worth individuals, who value excellent service.   The Firm is very stable with valued long-term staff.  Principal services are primarily Residential and Commercial Conveyancing, Estate Agency, Private Client work and Family Law.

Kinross boasts excellent quality affordable housing, many sporting opportunities, and a lively community.  The local high school is highly rated, Dollar Academy is a 20 minute bus ride away and a bus is provided to Strathallan School.  The town, just off the M90, is convenient for commuting within 45 minutes to Edinburgh, Perth, Dunfermline, St. Andrews and Stirling.  There is a broad range of spouse work opportunities from local to multinational businesses, industry to academia, and good transport linkages plus hi-speed broadband for home working. 

The Firm seeks an experienced lawyer to assist this thriving practice.   The opportunity is to shape the running of this business with an excellent work-life balance.   The partners each specialise in their own areas, sharing aspects of their private client work.  A highly experienced Property Manager runs the Estate Agency with a strong team.  The new partner’s practice will be primarily Conveyancing (Residential and Commercial), with substantial work in Tax planning, Wills, Executry, POAs and Long-term Care.  There is scope to develop one’s own specialism.  

This role requires a technically proficient, seasoned, client-oriented and commercially focused partner.  Good knowledge of Taxation, Executry etc. is essential.   Business development, client relationship management and fee-earning are critical activities; staff supervision and training, and practice management require enthusiasm and skill.  The appointee will be able to demonstrate professionalism, intelligence and a hard-work ethos.

Initially, an appropriate salary is offered, with substantial profit-share potential.   An escalating equity share and profit sharing is anticipated, based on performance.
