We are a small team and we need a proactive and positive person to take on the varied and challenging role of Legal Support Office Manager to support us. This is a unique opportunity for someone smart and diligent, with a keen eye for detail.
You must be legally trained in order to support our Legal Director with client contract reviews, subcontractor management and HR contracts. Please note this is not a legal traineeship.
You must be proactive and a born multi-tasker in order to help the smooth running of the office. This is a hands on role, suited to someone who likes being at the centre of a business and offering a helping hand. The successful candidate will be our go-to person to get things done in the office, whether for contract reviews and audits, or ordering stationary and nipping to the post office. This role is well suited to a well organised individual looking for variety, as no two days are the same!
A key part of this role will involve helping ensure that projects contracts are reviewed promptly and company risk minimised. In addition, you will be required to carry out annual company audits (ISO9001/ISO14001 and Achilles) and carry out actions in preparation and following these audits.
If you (1) love a contract, (2) want to keep a work life balance, and (2) don’t mind rolling up your sleeves to get stuff done in the office, (4) don’t fancy a traditional role in a law firm, please get in touch!
Responsibilities will include:
You will be based at MacArthur Green’s office in Glasgow on the banks of the River Kelvin. We are operating a skeleton staff in the office whilst Covid-19 restrictions apply, and as this role is integral to the smooth running of the company the candidate must be prepared to be office based.
The role is full time, Monday to Friday, 8.30am and 5pm with a one hour break for lunch. Please consider carefully whether you can commit to this working pattern before applying, as these requirements are mandatory.
The successful candidate must be proactive and confident working with a range of people; you will work with and support our clients, Directors and our onshore and offshore ecology and ornithology Project Managers.
You must have:
Ideally you will have knowledge of auditing whether for quality, environmental or health and safety, but this is not essential as training can be provided.
Salary £28,000 – £36,000 pro rata, dependent on experience, plus company pension contribution.
Successful applicants will be short listed for interview. If you are shortlisted, you will be asked to undertake a practical exercise involving a high level review of a commercial contract to identify key potential risks. Depending on your successful performance in this exercise, we will write to you to invite you to interview.
Interviews are based on our competency framework. We will look for evidence from you to support your level of competence for the role.
